FEI Trails
SCHOOLS VISITING BEACON FELL
There are three trails available for primary school use, combining the
National Curriculum with the outdoors. The Math's, Science and Geography trails,
cover key stage 1 & 2 using a self guided pack, schools can use this information
in the classroom before and after visiting the Fell. We recommend that teachers
visit the Fell prior to the school's visit to see the trails and equipment
packs that are available. The packs contain equipment for each of the trails
and can be hired at a cost of 5 plus a 20 deposit (per pack). An orienteering
pack can be loaned and contains all the equipment to do the orienteering course
designed for primary school children.

of the path has three level rest stops 10m apart. The Tarn offers a small picnic
area and scenic views onto the island and across to Longridge Fell

Starting at the 'Orme Sight' adjacent to the Visitor centre the trail leads
up to the summit of Beacon fell. A long the trail you will also come across
a snake, a bat and a 50ft heron. All the sculptures were carved by local artist
Thompson Dagnall from materials found in the locality. It is hoped that in
