You can order copy birth, marriage and death certificates using our online certificate request service .

Purchasing a copy certificate

There are several ways you can order a copy certificate:

• On-line - request a copy certificate
• By telephone on 08450530021
• By mail : postal applications to: Lancashire Certificate Service, Quayside Court, Chain Caul Way, Preston, PR2 2ZP
• Or in person at the above address ( View map and directions ) . Please be aware when applying in person as there may be a waiting time whilst the certificate is being produced.

Orders

When you place an order we will treat it as an offer to buy. If we accept your order, we make a legal contract with you. In deciding whether to accept your order we may use the information you have given to us. Please provide as much information as you can, to enable the certificate service office staff to make a successful search of our records.

Delivery

Deliveries are by surface post or Air Mail. Delivery will be within 28 working days of acceptance of order unless stated otherwise. We give priority to applications for personal use so if your application is for family history purposes you may wait  up to 3 weeks for a response. We will contact you by telephone or e-mail if there are any unexpected delays.

Cancellations and Returns

As the goods being supplied are of a personalised nature from your specification, and also because the order is fed directly into our production process, leaving us unable to stop the system, we therefore regret that there is no facility to cancel, amend or refund your order.

If, however, we are unable to locate the entry you request, we will write to tell you within 20 working days, and in this circumstance, your fee will be fully refunded.
