Approval of premises for a special occasion ceremony

To be approved premises must meet the following standard requirements:

  1. Having regard to their primary use, situation, construction and state of repair, the premises must, in the opinion of the County Council, be seemly and dignified for holding non-statutory ceremonies.
  2. The premises must be regularly open to the public and occupied at the time of the proposed ceremony by other than the ceremony guests.
  3. The premises must have the benefit of such fire precautions as may be reasonably required by the County Council and such other reasonable provision for the health and safety of persons employed in or visiting the premises as the County Council considers appropriate.
  4. Where approval is sought for a ceremony to be held in the open-air provision must be made for the Celebrant and key participants to the ceremony to be under cover in the event of inclement weather.
  5. The seating arrangements and seating capacity of the room/s to be used for the ceremony must comply with any requirements of the County Council.
  6. Reserved car parking must be available for the Celebrant.
  7. No food or drink to be consumed or served in the room during the ceremony.
