Scheduled Ancient Monument - Steam Railway

District: Blackburn
Name: Steam tramway reversing triangle (not in situ).
Description: The steam tramway reversing triangle was constructed as the terminus of the Darwen tram system. The triangle of track has been preserved and laid out by the local authority. A plaque records its construction in 1881, apparently the first such arrangement to be authorised by Parliament.
