Chorley Interchange

Chorley’s new £3million bus/rail interchange has greatly improved the standard of access to public transport in the town centre. Everyone can now benefit from easy transfer between buses and trains.

The new bus station facility has been built on the former Clifford Street car park (directly between Market Walk and the Rail Station), which has good pedestrian crossing to the refurbished railway station.

Aims of Chorley Interchange

To provide a key flagship site for Chorley Town Centre.

CCTV coverage linked to the police station

Key Features £400,000 improvement works of the railway station

Facilities for customers with disabilities, including a toilet, split-level booking office counter and new ramps
A complete revamp of the booking hall entrance
An upgraded closed circuit television (monitored by Chorley Borough Council)
Landscaping to the front and side of the station that will make it safer for pedestrians crossing between the station and bus interchange
Planting on the site of the old level crossing.
