This is a new site which is being developed and added to daily so please bear with us and if you can't find what you're looking for contact us at travelwise@env.lancscc.gov.uk
Lancashire County Council and Lancashire bus operators jointly fund the county's traveline service on 0871 200 22 33. This forms part of a national network of call centres that provide up-to-date timetable information on local bus services between the hours of 08:00 and 20:00, 7 days a week.. Calls cost 10p per minute.. The Lancashire callcentre also has a textphone for the hard of hearing.
If you want to find out about fares you will need to contact the operator directly.

There are two types of timetable leaflet which you may come across in Lancashire.
The first type is produced by Lancashire County Council, sometimes in partnership with bus operators. It gives details of the bus routes in a particular area and the times of all the buses that operate along those routes.
You may also come across a second type of leaflet which is produced solely by the bus operator and gives information about their services only.
If a service changes before a new leaflet can be produced then an amendment sheet is printed and inserted inside the timetable leaflet.
Timetable leaflets have to provide a lot of information in a small space. Because of this they make use of abbreviations and symbols which can make them appear difficult to understand. select this link for help on using a timetable.
Lancashire County Council produces town maps which give details of all the buses that operate in an area and the routes that they take. These maps are expensive to produce so they are only updated every few years however they can be a useful starting point for finding out about buses in the area.
Where to get timetable leaflets and bus maps
Go to (External) www.transportforlancashire.com/timetables/index.asp or submit your details here and a leaflet will be sent out to you, we will also gladly produce large print versions of any leaflet on request, free of charge
Or pick up a leaflet at your local library or county information centre.
Lancashire County Council provides timetable cases at main bus stops along routes and at all bus stations in the county. There are approximately 8000 bus stops in Lancashire and we aim to equip all of them with timetable cases by 2009.
Timetable cases are updated in the 48 hours either side of any service change.
Next Bus Information Screens
Next bus information screens give details of buses that are due to arrive or depart according to their scheduled times. We are continuing to install `Next bus' information displays at main bus stations in the county.
Face to face information and advice.
There are 14 County Information Centres in Lancashire which are operated by Lancashire County Council. The friendly assistants give face-to-face help and advice about all aspects of local bus services. If they can't answer your questions themselves they'll try to point you in the direction of people who can.
Information for people who cannot read English.
Lancashire County Council will translate leaflets about bus services free of charge into other commonly used languages.
Real time is a big leap forward for public transport information. Real time displays let you know when a bus will actually arrive (not just the scheduled time). We are currently developing a real time system for Preston and South Ribble as part of the total transport network project. Click the logo below for more info.
(External)Real time has already arrived in Lancashire in the form of the Rural Intelligent Bus Stops at Silverdale in Lancaster. It is especially useful in rural areas where services may be infrequent and there is no way of finding out whether a bus has been delayed.
Lancashire County Council published its Bus Information Strategy in March 2002. This sets out the standards for public transport information that the county council and bus operators must meet.
We believe that information on your local bus services should be:
If you feel that we have not met these standards please let us know.
If you find out that any of the information that we have mentioned is not available
then please contact us. We will look into it and do our best to help.
