Countryside Officers

Area Based Countryside Management

Countryside Officers are at the forefront of our approach to Countryside Management, they are the key community contacts for environmental and countryside issues and for making ideas happen. Countryside Officers provide help, advice and assistance with environmental improvements, conservation management, access and recreation, tourism, rural economies and information and education.

Through developing close working relationships with local communities, local Authorities, Government Agencies and Community bodies, the area based Countryside Officers can develop projects that respond to the desires and needs of the people of Lancashire. It is the Officers role to attract funding and to provide advice on sources. They may help with grant applications where appropriate. If you, your community or group have an idea for an environmental project please contact the Countryside Service.
