Conder green
Conder Green is situated near the historic seaport of Glasson at the beginning of the Lune Millennium Cycleway . The path starts at Glasson Dock and follows a disused railway line alongside the estuary of the River Lune where many interesting and contrasting birds and plant species may be seen. The path can be followed to Aldcliffe and then onto Lancaster itself. At Glasson Dock the Glasson branch of the Lancaster Canal joins the River Lune and these two canals, together with the Coastal Path, form a good circular walk of about 14 miles taking in panoramic views of the estuary and surrounding area. A metalled, level, car park located near Glasson Dock just off the A588 from Lancaster to Cockerham. The entrance road to the picnic site is in front of the Stork public house. The site has a toilet block with wheel chair accessible facilities and a ramp to a picnic table with views over the Conder estuary and wheelchair access to the coastal way can be gained from Conder Green Picnic site. Situated 4 miles to the south of Lancaster just off the A588 ½ mile from Glasson. OS Grid Reference SD 522 644. Conder Green can be reached by bus from Lancaster, Pilling and Knott End. Ask the driver for the correct stop.
