Logo: Green Partnership Awards
The Green Partnership Awards aims to assist the community to improve the environment for the benefit of all. In the past projects supported by the scheme have included; tree and shrub planting, hedgerow restoration, pond creation, school wildlife areas, butterfly gardens, footpath / bridleway improvements and the restoration of countryside features such as drystone walls. As well as assistance with project funding, applicants can also access professional advice from officers in each of the districts covered by the scheme and officers from the County Council's Countryside Service.

Any group, organisation or individual can apply for GPA.
Practical environmental improvement projects – their development, implementation and celebration;
Projects that develop awareness and educate on environmental issues, such as training courses, production of material and events;
Projects that promote waste reduction and reuse of materials.

There is no set amount but grants around £500 are typical.
The partnership expects a certain level of investment from applicant user groups however; this would normally be in the region of at least 20% of the project's total cost.
The partnership is particularly keen to support projects where volunteer effort or gifts in kind are making a contribution to the scheme e.g. building materials, tools, tool hire, plants, specialist advice, equipment or labour; or where projects have a shortfall in funding and a grant from GPA could be used to attract further funding i.e. from local sponsorship, school PTA etc..

The information that you supply to local authorities as part of your application may not be secure if it is transmitted by e-mail or over the internet. This is particularly significant if signatures or sensitive financial or staff details are included. We do not yet have the necessary data encryption software to protect information and digital signatures. We advise you to return applications and supporting information by post. If you do send your information electronically, you also accept the potential risk that goes with it.
