This module, available at participating schools, is only available to those children who have completed both Modules 1 and 2. It allows for the development of skills learnt in Module 2 in the relatively safe environment of carefully chosen and risk assessed local roads. The roads are assessed by the Approved Trainer together with a representative of the Road Safety Group.
The maximum class size is 12 children with a pupil, teacher ratio not exceeding 4:1
As with Module 2, each child must own or have unrestricted access to a roadworthy cycle and cycle helmet.
The Road Safety Group must be given adequate notice of any proposed training, otherwise the course may not be recognised as an approved Passport to Safer Cycling course.
On successful completion of this module children are eligible to receive a certificate and a sticker for their 'Passport'.
