Child Pedestrian Training

2 October, 2008

Every Child's Right...is to have the Right Start in life

In 2003, there were no fatalities, 12 serious injuries and 39 slight injuries in the 5-7 year old age group in Lancashire. This compares with 1 fatal, 18 serious and 46 slight injuries in this age group in the County in 2002.

The Award Winning programme 'Right Start' has been developed to enable children to become safer pedestrians. It is based on research which shows that children learn best through practical experience in the traffic environment.

The programme is designed for use with primary age children and involves schools and parents working in partnership to enable children to become safer pedestrians.

For more information about the award winning programme telphone the Road Safety Group on 01772 534514.
