Drivers/Riders

With an average of about 3,500 people killed on Britains roads, Road Safety Groups and other organisations around the country are constantly monitoring data nationally, regionally and locally. As a result various road user training courses have been developed, some of which have been launched nationally.

Here in Lancashire we have been developing courses too in a bid to help reach the Government's casualty reduction targets for 2010. The award winning Speed Awareness course, first launched in Lancashire in 2001, is now being considered by other authorities around the country.

But we don't just look at providing remedial training for drivers involved in incidents which may have involved bad driving, we are being proactive in developing courses for other vulnerable drivers. As a result we have training and advice available for new and novice drivers, older drivers and those returning to driving after a break.
