Public Transport Lancashire has an excellent network of bus and rail services and Lancashire County Council, in partnership with local operators, is committed to providing high quality travel by public transport across the county.
Better By Bus
If you haven’t caught the
bus for a while, you might be surprised by the improvements you find. This
includes more modern, comfortable buses on the roads than ever before with easy
access low floors and facilities for prams and wheelchairs. Bus stops and interchanges
are constantly being upgraded and timetable information updated, with many
routes now having Real Time bus information so you know when your bus will
arrive.
Make the most of your travel time
Try catching the train if
you usually drive to work and see how you can get home faster – no more getting
stressed out, stuck in traffic, and there’s no hassle of trying to find a
parking space. If you still have work to do, your journey time can be more
effectively spent getting on with work on your lap top, answering emails or
making phone calls. Or use the journey to unwind after a hard days work or
leisure and let someone else do the driving. You can read, listen to music, do
puzzles, play hand held games or just sit back, relax and watch the world go by
on public transport.
Get fit – and save money!
Rather than parking right
next to your destination, why not use the walk from the bus stop, interchange
or station to where you need to go as a way of fitting exercise into your
routine. Save money by buying weekly or season tickets for commuting – and
there’s no need to worry about expensive parking on the bus or train!
