County Library and Information Service
If you are a registered user of the library service ( select this link to find out how to become a member ), you can now renew your books and other library items yourself, any time of the day or night, either over the telephone, by email , personal visit to an open library or online .
All you will need is your Membership Number and your PIN (Personal Identification Number). See below for more details.
It is possible to renew items up to 10 times using this service. Please note that some items may not be renewed, and that some audio-visual items may be subject to loan charges on renewal. Any item that has been requested by another borrower may not be renewed. Also, please note that overdue items may be subject to overdue loan charges .
To renew online please follow the My Account link from the Online Library Catalogue . Enter your Membership Number and PIN when prompted and then select Loans. Follow the instructions on screen to renew one or all of your items.
To renew using our automatic telephone renewal service just dial 0845 050 1083 and follow the instructions given. With the automatic telephone renewal service you can check library information and opening times, you can check your records and you can renew the items you have on loan. Please note that all calls to this number are charged at local rates.
Note: To obtain a PIN you can do one of the following (please remember that for security reasons PINs cannot be given over the telephone):
a) Pop along to your local library (you will need your Membership Card and one proof of identification showing your signature - examples can be found here ).
b) Email library@lcl.lancscc.gov.uk stating your name, address and Membership Number.
c) Write to Libraries Admin Section, PO Box 61, County Hall, Preston, PR1 8RJ, stating your name, address and Membership Number.
