School library service

Primary schools

• SLS helps improve book and library provision in schools. 
• Supports teachers in delivering the National Curriculum. 
• Offers a wide range of services to all primary schools in Lancashire. 
• The three aspects to the service are 

  • Loans 
  • Advice 
  • Inset

Loans of relevant and up to date books and audio visual material are carefully selected by our professional staff to closely match pupil's age and ability levels and consist of:- 

• Long term exchange loans from the SLS mobile library · 
• Short term loans - project loans, literacy loans (author packs, big books and poetry loans), book promotion and share-a-story set loans.

Impartial professional advice is available based on extensive practical experience of school library provision.
