About Us
Based within the Policy Unit of Lancashire County Council the role of the Corporate Research and Intelligence Team is to contribute towards social and economic well-being for all sections of the community within the Lancashire sub-region by:
"Providing a comprehensive and responsive information and intelligence service to the County Council, local and strategic partnerships, Lancashire residents, industry and commerce and others who have a general interest in the social and economic well-being of Lancashire"
The Team undertakes this task by:
-
Acquiring, collating, analysing and disseminating reliably sourced official and non-official data and intelligence, including public opinion polls, about Lancashire's social and economic position and its performance across a wide range of measures and indicators relative to the nation and the region.
-
Contributing to regional, county and sub-county policy development and supporting the evaluation and impact of policy decisions and strategies.
-
Incorporating information and intelligence into strategic and policy initiatives and to represent and advocate Lancashire's case for social and economic funding assistance at regional, national and European levels
-
Maintaining and extending data sharing, intelligence and joint working partnerships with external public and private sector organisations in support of intelligence driven decision making.
-
Through the use of socio-economic information and intelligence, promoting the merits of Lancashire as a place to both live and work and the industrial and commercial investment opportunities within the sub-region. This includes, where appropriate, the organisation and co-ordination of special events, presentations and exhibitions.
